Firme Ensamble de 6 is an artisanal joven mezcal blended from six agaves, espadín, tobalá, barril, cuishe, mexicano and coyote, bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof).
It is produced in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, by Firme, the brand founded by Alberto Ochoa.
The agave is crushed with a horse-drawn tahona, fermented in open-air pine vats and double distilled in copper pots.
Blending six agaves layers sweet espadín, floral tobalá and the mineral karwinskii family into one glass.
Its tall bottle with the blue Firme label lists every agave in the blend, and it is a great way to explore several maguey at once.
