Frida Kahlo Tequila Reposado is a super-premium 100% Blue Weber agave tequila aged nine months in American oak casks, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Developed in cooperation with the Frida Kahlo Estate, the tequila honors one of Mexico's most famous artists, who loved tequila almost as much as she loved art. It is all natural, with no artificial ingredients added to accelerate fermentation. The agave is hand-selected at peak maturity, slow cooked in an antique adobe brick oven, steamed and cooled to remove any bitterness, and pressed to extract only the finest juices.
After fermentation, the spirit rests nine months in American oak, a generous stay that develops smooth, complex character while preserving the agave's natural sweetness. The nose brings cooked agave, vanilla, caramel and light toasted oak, and the palate is smooth and refined, made to enjoy by itself or in a cocktail.
The floral label with Frida's portrait makes it a beautiful gift for art lovers.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
