Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish is a special edition Speyside single malt, matured for twelve years in American and European oak sherry casks before finishing in Amontillado sherry casks, and bottled at 43% ABV.
The Amontillado casks come from the Spanish sherry region of Jerez and are the rarest of sherry casks: each year they make up less than 5% of all the sherry casks Glenfiddich imports, a measure of their rarity and desirability. The finish adds lively notes of dried fruit and a delicately spicy close.
The nose is distinctively fresh and fruity, with a hint of pear, delicate dried fruit and subtle spice. The taste brings beautifully sweet, fruity notes enveloped by rich oak, cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of baked apple, and the finish is smooth and mellow with a lingering spiciness.
A fresh take on a classic, it makes a fine gift for Scotch lovers.
Enjoy it neat, on the rocks, with a splash of water, or with club soda to expand the flavour.
Scotch whisky must be distilled and matured in Scotland for at least three years in oak casks, and any age statement on the label refers to the youngest whisky in the bottle.
