Gran Agave Ghost Edition Reposado is a 100% agave tequila rested six months in American oak and presented in a limited-edition ceramic ghost decanter, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
It has the perfect combination of agave and barrel. Distilled slowly to highlight its intense notes of cooked agave, cinnamon and sweet honey, it matures in American oak for six months, allowing barrel and spice notes to become more complex and rich while the well-managed age gives a wood flavor that prevails in the mouth. It is produced at NOM 1173.
The brief maturation rounds the fresh, cooked-agave core with vanilla and light oak while keeping the spirit bright and approachable. Expect vanilla, agave, a touch of citrus and an earthy note.
Bottled in a collectible ceramic ghost decanter for the Halloween season, it doubles as festive décor and makes a fun gift.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
