Gran Centenario Plata is an award-winning, 100% blue Weber agave tequila from the highlands of Jalisco, double distilled and briefly rested in American oak pipones, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Gran Centenario has been crafted with passion since 1857, honoring the pioneering Selección Suave process of the legendary Lázaro Gallardo. Today Centenario is Mexico's best-selling tequila.
Centenario Plata is made with only three ingredients, 100% blue Weber agave, water and yeast, with no shortcuts. Unlike many clear tequilas, it is rested briefly in low-char American oak pipones, large wooden vats, which give it a subtle wood note and an ultra-smooth finish. It has won a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The aroma is balanced and herbal, with hints of fruit and agave. The palate brings balanced, fruit-forward notes of pear, lime and citrus with a hint of black pepper, and the finish is ultra smooth.
Its tall, ribbed bottle with the angel label is instantly recognizable. Enjoy it neat or chilled, or make it the base of a Margarita, a Paloma or a Tequila Soda.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
