Guerrero del Sol Añejo is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from Jalisco, presented in one of the most dramatic bottles in the world of tequila: a glass decanter crowned by a sculpted Mesoamerican warrior bust with a stern expression and a golden eagle-head headdress. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
The design honours the Aztec Eagle Warriors, the elite soldiers who were regarded as warriors of the sun, which gives the brand its name: Guerrero del Sol means "warrior of the sun". The glass itself is decorated with colourful illustrations of warriors and temple scenes.
The agave is slow-cooked in traditional brick ovens, then distilled in copper pot stills and aged in oak, and its time in the barrel brings rich caramel and vanilla character to the cooked agave.
Presented in an illustrated gift box, it is a spectacular centrepiece for a bar and an unforgettable gift for collectors of decorative bottles.
Pour it neat into a snifter and enjoy it slowly.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
