Big Dog Distillery was founded in 2020 by Scott and Connie Beierle, a couple with a history of successful business ventures who returned to North Dakota looking for their next adventure. Tucked into a small strip mall on South 3rd Street in downtown Bismarck, it is home to Heart River Spirits, a line of handcrafted rum and moonshine made without added sugars, artificial colors or flavors.
The single-run copper pot stills are designed to bring out the smoothest, richest flavor, and the silver rum is a clean, smooth spirit that works beautifully in cocktails. Because the products are all natural, they are best shaken before serving.
