Heaven's Door Ascension is a small-batch blend of two Kentucky straight bourbons, one high-rye and one traditional, non-chill filtered and non-charcoal mellowed, aged over five years and bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV).
Ascension marks a new chapter for Bob Dylan's Heaven's Door, anchored in Kentucky, where the brand has laid down roots in Pleasureville at its Heaven's Door Distillery at Six Mile Creek. It is the brand's inaugural Kentucky straight bourbon, with one of the two bourbons sourced directly from Heaven's Door's own production. The master blender builds each batch from ten barrels or fewer to ensure the perfect balance, and the name reflects Dylan's wish for a collection of whiskeys that tell their own story. Ascension won Gold at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Blending high-rye and traditional bourbon creates a profile that bridges richness and spice, a bright, flavorful pour with its natural character intact.
The Bob Dylan-inspired label makes it a great gift for music and bourbon fans.
Bourbon must be made in the United States from a mash of at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak containers, and straight bourbon must be aged at least two years. Those rules give bourbon its characteristic sweetness, with caramel and vanilla drawn from the charred barrels.
