Heritage Distilling Co. Dual Barrel (Vanilla) Bourbon is a small-batch bourbon aged first in new charred oak barrels and then finished in barrels that held pure vanilla extract, bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV).
Part of Heritage Distilling's Dual Barrel Collection, this bourbon takes its character from a two-barrel aging process that layers wood-driven depth over a sweet, dessert-leaning core. After aging in new charred oak, it is refined in barrels once used to make pure vanilla extract. It earned a Silver Medal at the 2018 American Distilling Institute competition and Bronze Medals in 2022 and 2023.
Sweet and savory with wood-heavy barrel notes, it bursts with caramelized nougat on the nose and offers candy-like notes of chocolate, brandied cherry and vanilla on the palate. It is extremely smooth, with a soft, lingering vanilla finish.
The clean copper-and-cream label makes it a great gift.
Bourbon must be made in the United States from a mash of at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak containers, and straight bourbon must be aged at least two years. Those rules give bourbon its characteristic sweetness, with caramel and vanilla drawn from the charred barrels.
