Horse Soldier Premium Straight Bourbon is an award-winning, non-chill filtered straight bourbon made from small batches of four-year-old bourbon and bottled at 87 proof (43.5% ABV).
Horse Soldier was founded by a team of U.S. Special Forces veterans whose brotherhood carried them through several major conflicts and ultimately into bourbon making, driven by family values, adventure and pride. The classic recipe of corn, rye and malted barley is distilled and aged in Ohio, and the brand created custom bottle molds for its distinctive bronze-relief bottle. It won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Deep amber, it shows caramel, toasted corn, oak, cinnamon and dark fruit on the nose, with vanilla, nutmeg, amber honey, custard, mild black pepper and a hint of spicy oak on a balanced, medium body.
The bronze horse-and-rider bottle makes it a meaningful gift.
Bourbon must be made in the United States from a mash of at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak containers, and straight bourbon must be aged at least two years. Those rules give bourbon its characteristic sweetness, with caramel and vanilla drawn from the charred barrels.
Non-chill filtering keeps more of the whiskey's natural oils and body.
Straight bourbon must age at least two years in new charred oak.
A splash of water opens up the caramel and spice.
It pairs with grilled steak, smoked brisket or pecan pie.
It is a fitting gift for veterans and military families.
The sculpted bottle stands out on any home bar.
