House of Elrick is a beautifully crafted artisan gin from Aberdeenshire, Scotland, made with water from Loch Ness and a floral, earthy blend of botanicals, bottled at 84 proof (42% ABV).
House of Elrick is made on an estate in Aberdeenshire, and its striking bottle carries an intricate Celtic emblem above the words Aberdeen Scotland. It is the only spirit made with water taken from the depths of Loch Ness, which gives the gin a soft, clean foundation.
The botanicals are hand-picked and include juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root and citrus peel, built around a core of Scottish heather, pink peppercorns, sweet fennel and rose petals. A Navy Strength version is also made, with less Loch Ness water and more intensity.
Decidedly floral in character, it opens with juniper, heather and rose, followed by a smooth palate of citrus, sweet fennel and pink peppercorn, and an earthy, gently spicy finish.
House of Elrick makes an elegant Gin and Tonic: pour it over plenty of ice with a light tonic and garnish with a twist of pink grapefruit or a few pink peppercorns. It is also lovely in a dry Martini with a lemon twist, a Negroni, a French 75 or a floral Bee's Knees with honey and lemon. Pair it with smoked salmon, oysters, langoustines, goat cheese or a summer salad with fennel and citrus. The dark bottle with its Celtic emblem makes House of Elrick a beautiful gift for gin lovers and anyone who loves Scotland, from the Highlands to the legend of Loch Ness.
