Hugo Bleu is a French liqueur that blends VSOP Cognac with European chocolate, crafted in France and bottled in a 700ml bottle.
Hugo Bleu brings together two French and European classics, aged Cognac and fine chocolate, in a single smooth liqueur. It launched in the United States in 2025 and earned a Double Gold medal at the 2025 International Challenge.
The base is VSOP Cognac, aged at least four years in oak, which gives the liqueur its warm grape, oak and spice backbone. European chocolate is blended in for a rich, velvety sweetness, and the result is a dessert liqueur that still tastes clearly of Cognac.
Expect dark chocolate and cocoa on the nose, a creamy palate of chocolate, dried fruit and gentle oak, and a warm, lingering Cognac finish.
Serve Hugo Bleu chilled in a small glass or over a single large cube as an after-dinner treat. Pour it over vanilla ice cream, stir a splash into hot coffee or hot chocolate, or shake it with vodka and cream for a rich chocolate Martini. It also works in an Espresso Martini or a chocolate White Russian. Pair it with tiramisu, chocolate mousse, strawberries, salted caramel, hazelnut desserts or a plate of aged cheese and dried fruit. Keep the bottle in the refrigerator for the silkiest texture. The elegant bottle makes Hugo Bleu a thoughtful gift for birthdays, anniversaries and the holidays, especially for anyone who loves Cognac and chocolate. For a simple party serve, pour small measures into chilled glasses and top each with a dusting of cocoa or a little whipped cream, or set out the bottle with a tray of chocolate truffles and fresh berries.
