Humano Tequila Reposado is an additive-free, single-estate reposado from the Highlands of Jalisco, made from 100% Blue Weber agave and rested four months in new American oak and ex-bourbon barrels, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Humano is among the few producers with single-estate control from field to glass, drawing agave grown across the company's ranch in the Highlands of Jalisco. The agave is hand-harvested by jimadores, cooked in a combination of brick ovens and autoclaves, milled on a roller mill, fermented in closed stainless steel tanks with a proprietary yeast and double distilled in stainless steel pot stills incorporating copper. After resting in the two types of barrel, the components are master-blended together.
Four months of rest gives a light golden colour and a rounder profile than the blanco, layering soft oak and sweet barrel notes over the bright agave core. The nose brings red apple, caramel and vanilla, with accents of cherry and clove, and the palate offers cooked agave, berries, vanilla and white oak.
