JCB No. 69 is a Brut Rosé Crémant de Bourgogne from Jean-Charles Boisset, bottled at 12% ABV.
It is a Pinot Noir-led sparkling rosé from Burgundy, made by the traditional method, with a second fermentation in bottle and ageing on the lees for richness.
Its name and its rose-gold label make it one of the most playful bottles in the JCB range, made for celebrations and romance.
In the glass it is a delicate pale pink, with fresh red berries, wild strawberry and raspberry, fine bubbles and a crisp, elegant finish.
It is a lovely bottle for Valentine's Day, anniversaries and toasts.
Traditional-method sparkling wine is made the same way as Champagne: a still base wine is bottled with a little yeast and sugar, and the second fermentation in the bottle creates fine, persistent bubbles. Time resting on the spent yeast, the lees, adds the toasty, brioche-like notes that set these wines apart from tank-fermented styles.

How to Enjoy It
Serve JCB No. 69 well chilled, at around 8 to 10°C, in a tulip or white wine glass. Chill the bottle for a few hours in the refrigerator, or for about twenty minutes in an ice bucket filled with ice and water, and open it gently, holding the cork and turning the bottle, so the fine bubbles stay in the glass. It is a beautiful aperitif and pairs wonderfully with smoked salmon, tuna tartare, prawns, sushi, duck breast and berry desserts. Try it with a cheese board of soft cheeses and fresh strawberries, or with chocolate-dipped fruit for dessert. Once opened, a sparkling wine stopper will keep it lively in the refrigerator for a day or two.
