Jodhpur Spicy Gin is a bold, warming take on London Dry-style gin, distilled four times with 13 botanicals and spiced with chili, black, white and green pepper and cumin, bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV).
Jodhpur Gin takes its inspiration from India, from the vibrant spice markets of Jodhpur, the Blue City, to the heritage of the Thar Desert, also known as the Great Indian Desert. The range includes the classic London Dry in a blue bottle, the citrus Mandore in orange, a gold Reserve, and this Spicy gin in its striking red bottle.
It is produced the same way as Jodhpur Gin: a base of selected grain spirit distilled four times following the London Dry method, with 13 botanicals including juniper, coriander, ginger and spices native to India. A special citrus mash is added to the still during the final distillation to preserve the delicate flavor of the fruit, and the spices are macerated separately to enhance their aroma before distillation.
Five spices give it its warmth: chili, black pepper, white pepper, green pepper and cumin. The aroma brings hints of green and jalapeño peppers with white pepper spice, and the heat builds progressively on the palate rather than overwhelming it, with piney juniper, herbs and citrus, a rich mouthfeel and a long, savory finish.
It makes a spicy Gin & Tonic, a fiery Bloody Mary-style gin drink or a Gin Margarita with a salt rim.
