Joel Richard Petals Collection #2 is an organic extra añejo tequila made from 100% organically farmed blue agave from Amatitán, Jalisco, presented in a hand-painted ceramic decanter. It is bottled at 41% ABV and released as a limited edition.
Amatitán is one of the most celebrated agave-growing areas in the Tequila Valley, and Joel Richard draws on its organically farmed blue agave for this extra añejo. Extra añejo tequila must rest in oak for more than three years, and that long maturation gives it depth and a rich amber colour.
The Petals Collection is as much about art as tequila. Every bottle is individually crafted and hand-painted by local artisans, so each decanter is unique. The second collection is decorated with bold flowers and leaves in cobalt blue, orange and red on a cream glaze, with patterned bands around the neck and the Petals name painted in script, a design that draws on Mexico's tradition of hand-painted ceramics.
With its organic agave, long ageing and artisan decanter, Petals #2 is a centrepiece for a home bar and a gift that will be displayed long after the last pour.
