Hugh Wesley's Gin is a New American-style gin from John Emerald Distilling Co., a small-batch craft distillery in downtown Opelika, Alabama, made with wild-harvested Southern juniper and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
John Emerald is a father-and-son distillery that makes award-winning whiskey, rum, gin and vodka, and every bottle honors the Sharp family lineage. From the original three Sharp brothers who came to America from Scotland to John Emerald Sharp, the distillery's namesake, the family has lived lives of integrity, honoring God, their fellow man and their family. Each spirit is named for an ancestor, and its flavors evoke his personality.
Throughout his life, Hugh Wesley was a wise visionary with a spirit of adventure, a man not afraid to think outside the box, much like the gin that carries his name. Seeking out unique ingredients led the distillery to wild-foraged Alabama juniper berries of the Juniperus virginiana variety, making it one of the only gins in the world to use it. Coriander, orange peel and anise complete the botanical blend.
