Jura 14 Year Old American Rye Cask is an island single malt matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and hand-selected American rye barrels, bottled at 40% ABV.
It celebrates the bright community spirit of Jura, a close-knit island of around 212 people who give every visitor a warm welcome. The rye casks bring depth and complexity to the 14-year-old malt, with layered spice and aromatic, herbal and floral qualities.
Warm gold in colour, it pairs Jura's classic fresh citrus and vanilla with the herbal and floral aromas of the rye barrels, giving mango, fresh mint and crushed almond on the nose. The palate offers toffee apple richness and pecan pie with layers of cinnamon, vanilla, honey, cacao and hazelnut, and the finish is warm and nutty with toffee, maple syrup, guava and soft wood spice.
A gift from a tiny island community, it makes a fine present for Scotch lovers.
Enjoy it neat or with a drop of water.
Scotch whisky must be distilled and matured in Scotland for at least three years in oak casks, and any age statement on the label refers to the youngest whisky in the bottle.
A single malt Scotch whisky is made from 100% malted barley at a single distillery in Scotland and aged at least three years in oak casks.
Rye whiskey barrels carry spicy, herbal character that adds a new layer to a lighter island malt.
