Jura Seven Wood is an island single malt Scotch whisky from the Isle of Jura Distillery, matured first in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and then split between six different virgin French oak casks, bottled at 42% ABV.
The ability of Jura's tiny island community to reimagine and reinvent has allowed the distillery to thrive, and Seven Wood is a tribute to the Master Blender's skill. Working with the forestry commission, sawmill and cooperage in France, Jura uses fine virgin French oak casks sourced from various regions to enhance its whisky.
Layers of complexity emerge from this maturation journey. Seven Wood is a fruity and spicy single malt with flavours of crème caramel, baked peach and sweet liquorice.
Presented in its tube, it is a complex, characterful gift for Scotch lovers.
Enjoy it neat or with a drop of water.
Scotch whisky must be distilled and matured in Scotland for at least three years in oak casks, and any age statement on the label refers to the youngest whisky in the bottle.
A single malt Scotch whisky is made from 100% malted barley at a single distillery in Scotland and aged at least three years in oak casks.
Virgin oak casks have never held another liquid, so they give the whisky fresh wood character, spice and sweetness.
Jura is a remote island in the Inner Hebrides with only one distillery, in the village of Craighouse.
