KAH Tequila Añejo is a 100% blue agave tequila aged for over a year in American oak casks and bottled at 40% ABV, presented in a black and white ceramic skull bottle inspired by Nicaraguan Day of the Dead traditions.
In Nicaragua, in addition to building shrines and giving gifts, many people linger and spend the night in the graveyard with their loved ones, believing it reinforces the emotional connection between them and the deceased. The cork takes the shape of pan de muerto, the bread of the dead, a common offering.
KAH is produced by Fábrica de Tequilas Finos in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, where Master Distiller Arturo Fuentes was part of the team that created KAH, a 100% blue agave tequila inspired by Day of the Dead celebrations.
The flavour is a powerful agave character accompanied by chocolate, tobacco and coffee, with a full-bodied, viscous mouthfeel. The hand-decorated skull makes it a striking collectible and gift.
Sip it neat or over a large ice cube.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
