Kawésqar is a handcrafted potato vodka from Coyhaique, in the Aysén region of Chilean Patagonia, the southernmost vodka in the world, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
It is made 100% in Patagonia from regional raw materials: potatoes grown in Coyhaique by Alejandro Mansilla and pure spring water fed by the snowmelt of Cerro Castillo. Its creator, Yuliyan Popov, was born in Bulgaria and settled in Coyhaique with his family in 2019 to build a spirit inspired by his adopted home. The name honors the Kawésqar, an ancient people of the region who lived in harmony with nature.
Pure and clean, with earthy notes, a touch of potato cream, a fresh mineral edge and a subtle natural sweetness from its water, all carried on a velvety texture. It won Silver and the Innovation Award at the 2025 SIP Awards and Gold at the 2026 WSWA Tasting Competition.
