Knob Creek Rye is a small-batch Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Clermont, Kentucky, aged in deeply charred barrels and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
First released in 2012, Knob Creek Rye applies Booker Noe's pre-Prohibition, full-proof philosophy to rye: patiently aged in the deepest charred barrels and bottled at 100 proof to deliver the big, bold, spicy flavor rye is built for. It is the only standard ongoing rye in the James B. Beam Distilling Co. Small Batch Collection, and its Kentucky-style rye recipe gives a distinctly approachable, bourbon-friendly character.
Herbs, rye and oak lead the nose. The palate balances rye grain, white pepper, citrus rind, vanilla and oak, and the finish brings aged oak and rye spice with a touch of leather, warm and smooth.
The green-and-copper label makes it a great gift for rye fans.
