Kokoro Plata is an award-winning, small-batch, additive-free blanco tequila made from 100% blue Weber agave at NOM 1604, Destiladora Bonanza in Jalisco, and bottled at 40% ABV.
Kokoro is crafted to capture the true heart of the agave. At Destiladora Bonanza, rooted in the soil of Ojo de Agua de Latillas, master distillers Jesús, Juan Pablo and Rodrigo López steam-cook the agave hearts in traditional hornos for 48 hours, crush them by tahona, ferment in the open air and distil in copper stills.
The tahona preserves the natural fibre and character of the agave, giving an inviting aroma of cooked agave, green apple and dusted pineapple, with a balance of citrus, anise, mint and white pepper, a rich mouthfeel and great smoothness.
Presented in a distinctive white ceramic-style bottle, it is a striking gift for lovers of traditional tequila.
Savour it neat, over ice or in your favourite cocktail.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
