Kōloa Kauaʻi Spice is a Hawaiian spiced rum distilled, blended and bottled by Kōloa Rum Company in Kalaheo, Kauaʻi, from pure cane sugar, and bottled at 88 proof (44% ABV).
The rum is distilled twice in an impressive vintage 1,210-gallon, steam-powered copper pot still and cut with filtered water from the ancient Mount Waiʻaleʻale. Kōloa was named Hawaii Rum Distillery of the Year at the 2020 New York International Spirits Competition.
A majestic tawny color with golden highlights, it is lighter in body than the other Kōloa rums thanks to its higher strength. The nose is pleasantly balanced, with light cola, muted cinnamon and cacao, baked baklava, honey and freshly chopped walnut. The palate is dry and crisp, with upfront spice, deeply cooked caramel and a light sarsaparilla finish.
