Kuleana Hawaiian Rum Agricole is made from the fresh juice of estate-grown Hawaiian heirloom sugarcane, called kō, on the Kuleana farm in Kohala, Hawai'i, and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV). Wine Enthusiast named it Best American White Rum in 2024.
Less than 5% of the world's rum is made as an agricole, from fresh sugarcane juice rather than molasses, which makes this one of the rarest rums in the world. Each stalk of kō is hand cut and pressed fresh, the juice is fermented with a special yeast and distilled in a handmade copper pot still to between 60 and 74% ABV. This slow, careful process makes a flavourful rum that showcases the magnificence of the heirloom cane.
Expect green bananas, Fuji apple, cherries, Japanese plum, starfruit and lemongrass, with an Everlasting Gobstopper finish.
A taste of Hawai'i, it makes a memorable gift for rum lovers.
Enjoy it neat, or simply with a splash of syrup and a squeeze of lime, or in world-class cocktails.
Aged rum is one of the most diverse spirits in the world, shaped by the sugarcane, the still and the warm climates where it matures, which speed up the interaction between spirit and wood.
Rhum agricole is a style best known from Martinique and the French Caribbean, prized for the grassy, fruity freshness of cane juice.
Hawai'i's heirloom sugarcane varieties, known as kō, were carried to the islands by early Polynesian voyagers.
