Lágrimas del Valle La Loma Plata is a celebrated, terroir-driven, vintage-specific blanco tequila made from agave grown on a single high-altitude ranch in Michoacán, bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV).
It is produced at the legendary Cascahuín distillery (NOM 1123) in El Arenal, Jalisco, in close collaboration with fourth-generation master distiller Salvador Rosales Trejo, known as Chava. Lágrimas del Valle, meaning tears of the valley, is a Rancho Único (single ranch) project: rather than chasing a homogenised taste, each batch isolates agave from a single estate to show how soil and microclimate shape flavour.
La Loma marks a milestone for the brand as a release sourced from neighbouring Michoacán rather than Jalisco. Lágrimas del Valle releases its tequilas as vintages, applying the winemaking idea of terroir to blue Weber agave, and its tequilas are additive free.
A single-ranch vintage from one of tequila's most respected distilleries, it makes a fine gift for collectors.
Sip it neat to taste the character of the ranch.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
