Loch Lomond 2000 22 Year Old is a limited edition from The Open Course Collection, distilled in 2000 from certified organic barley and bottled to celebrate the 151st Open Championship at Royal Liverpool. Matured in American oak casks, it is bottled at 48.2% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, and only 4,500 bottles were released worldwide.
Loch Lomond is the Official Spirit of The Open, golf's oldest major championship, and each year the distillery releases a whisky in The Open Course Collection to honour the host course. For Royal Liverpool in 2023, it chose a rare organic single malt laid down at the turn of the millennium, letting more than two decades in American oak shape its character.
The result is bright and tropical, with honey, pineapple and mango leading the way, supported by vanilla, a touch of ginger and toasted oak.
The bottle carries Loch Lomond's distinctive label and is presented in a black box marked with The Open's claret jug emblem and the year 2000. It is a superb gift for a golfer and a fine bottle for anyone who collects Loch Lomond's limited releases.
