Lokita Tequila Blanco Small Batch is an additive-free, 100% blue agave tequila from a family distillery in Jalisco (NOM 1504), crafted by tequila maestro Armando Orozco and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Lokita is made in a family distillery under the supervision of Armando Orozco, who has 35 years of experience as an agave grower and distillery owner. He selects ripe blue agaves for sugar content and profile from a diversity of terroirs, balancing the mineral character of southern clay soils with the delicate fruit and floral notes of the Jalisco highlands. The agaves are cooked slowly in mampostería ovens, then distilled twice using copper pot stills and column stills for extra smoothness. Each batch gets a final tasting from the master distiller, and the bottles are hand numbered.
Fresh agave, citrus, tropical fruit and light floral notes lead the nose. The palate is bright and clean, with agave sweetness, citrus and gentle spice, ending crisp and refreshing with lingering agave.
The turquoise Aztec-calendar label and wooden stopper make it a beautiful gift.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
