L'Or de Jean Martell Réserve du Château Chanteloup is the inaugural edition of Martell's Réserve du Château collection, an ultra-limited cognac honouring the Martell family's historic estate in the Borderies. Only 1,000 individually numbered Baccarat crystal decanters are made each year, placing it among the rarest cognacs from one of the oldest houses in the region.

Maison Martell was founded in 1715, and Château de Chanteloup, north of the town of Cognac, has long been the family's home. The Réserve du Château series is planned as a sequence of annual releases, each paying tribute to a French château, and this first edition launched in 2024. It was created by Martell's Cellar Master, Christophe Valtaud, as a new expression of L'Or de Jean Martell, the house's most prestigious blend.

The blend brings together more than 1,400 eaux-de-vie from the four finest terroirs of the Cognac region. They are aged in fine-grained oak casks from ancient French forests, and the cognac rests in French oak barrels some 300 years old before its ageing is completed at Château de Chanteloup itself. The decanter, made with Maison Baccarat, evokes a single, pure drop of cognac. It arrives in a wooden box with a product booklet and two stoppers, one for travel and one for display.

  • Finish: Long and layered, with cedar and gentle spice from the old casks.
