Los Azulejos Reposado is a 100% agave tequila from Jalisco, rested for six months in oak and presented in a cobalt blue glass bottle with a hand-painted Talavera-style ceramic label and stopper. This is the generous 1.75-litre size, bottled at 40% ABV.
Los Azulejos, whose name means the tiles, draws on the Talavera tradition of Puebla, the centuries-old style of hand-painted earthenware known for its bold blue designs on white glaze. The round cobalt bottle with its blue and white medallion brings that artisan heritage to the bar.
Six months in oak gives the reposado a gentle golden hue and a touch of sweet oak and vanilla. Aromas of orange blossom, basil, hazelnut and nutmeg lead to a palate that opens lively and bright before turning smooth.
In the large 1.75-litre format, the striking blue bottle is a centrepiece for gatherings and a memorable gift.
Enjoy it neat, on the rocks, or in a premium margarita or paloma.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
