Los Azulejos Skelly Talavera Head Añejo is a 100% agave tequila rested for 18 months in oak and presented in a hand-painted ceramic skull bottle decorated in classic blue-and-white Talavera style. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
Los Azulejos takes its name from the tiles of Puebla's hand-painted Talavera earthenware, and each Skelly bottle is painted by Mexican artisans. The tequila sits in the skull's body: simply lift off the head and pour from the neck. The tequila is made at Casa Maestri.
The nose brings cooked agave, pepper and anise, with chocolate, orange and sugar cookie on the palate and a smooth finish.
A playful nod to Día de los Muertos, it is a memorable gift and a centrepiece for any bar.

Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
