Louis Latour Meursault Premier Cru Goutte d'Or 2019 is a white Burgundy made from Chardonnay from the Goutte d'Or premier cru in Meursault, bottled at 13.5% ABV.
The vines average 35 years old, on stony marl over Jurassic limestone, and are hand-picked at an average yield of 40 hl/ha.
The wine was aged 8 to 10 months in oak barrels, 50% new.
It has a beautiful pale golden colour, with brioche, acacia honey and fresh almond on the nose and an ample palate, with citrus, vanilla and a fine mineral finish.
Goutte d'Or, 'drop of gold', is one of Meursault's most celebrated premier crus, named for the golden colour of its wines. The 2019 earned 93 points from Wine Spectator, and Louis Latour suggests five to seven years of cellaring.
Good wine rewards a little care in serving. Whites and rosés show best chilled to around 45 to 50°F, while reds are at their most expressive slightly below room temperature, around 60 to 65°F. Opening the bottle and letting it breathe for a few minutes, or pouring it into a decanter, helps the aromas open up.

How to Enjoy It
Serve at 12 to 14°C in a white Burgundy glass. Pair it with lobster, scallops, turbot in butter sauce, roast chicken and aged Comté. Store the bottle on its side in a cool, dark place.
