Lunazul Añejo is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila aged 12 to 18 months in bourbon barrels, creating a warm and bold flavor that's rested to perfection, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Lunazul is made at the Tierra de Agaves distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, where the world's longest line of Master Tequileros turns 100% blue Weber agave into authentic, award-winning tequila. The brand was established in 2002 by Francisco Beckmann, drawing on 250 years of tradition, and is made for those who put tradition above trends and quality above excess.
Warm and clean as the Jalisco sun, the añejo shows a bold color and full body with vanilla and warm spice. The first pass on the nose reveals smoky white oak with subtle notes of dried fruit, plum and almond, then spice and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied, with a subtle sweetness emerging from the toasty oak and a peppery note underneath, and the finish is prolonged and warm.
Lunazul tequilas have been recognized with a Gold Medal at the 2015 Spirits of Mexico Competition.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
