Lunazul Primero Humoso is a smoked blanco tequila made from 100% Blue Weber agave from the Beckmann Estate, part of Lunazul's premium Primero Collection, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Primero, meaning the first, is the first premium collection from the Beckmann Estate of Agave, overseen by eighth-generation tequila producer Jorge Beckmann and guided by Master Tequilero Francisco Quijano. It is made at the Tierra de Agaves distillery in Tequila, Jalisco, founded in 2002 by Francisco Beckmann, using estate agave and an exclusive family recipe, and a proprietary yeast that adds green fruit and herbal notes such as eucalyptus. For Humoso, Blue Weber agave is cooked with mesquite wood and the smoked agave is combined with fresh agave before distillation, then left unaged. The Primero bottle carries Quijano's signature and an embossed leather neck wrap.
Cooked agave on the nose leads to white pepper spice with subtle herbal root and chili-pepper hints over the bright fruitiness of a blanco, finishing smoky, long and bright with lingering pepper.
