Luxardo Bitter Rosso is a classic Italian bitter aperitivo from Luxardo, first made in 1885 and bottled at 25% ABV.
It is made from an infusion of many refined herbs and spices, among them mint, marjoram, thyme and bitter orange.
It is designed to be enjoyed before dinner to stimulate the appetite, with a bright red colour and a bittersweet, herbal character.
It is certified kosher.
It is a natural partner for the Negroni and the spritz, and a classic bottle for the Italian-inspired bar.
Vermouth is an aromatised wine: a base wine fortified with neutral spirit and flavoured with botanicals, traditionally including wormwood, which gives the category its name from the German Wermut. Once opened, it should be kept in the refrigerator and enjoyed within a few weeks, as the wine base slowly loses its freshness.

How to Enjoy It
Luxardo suggests Bitter Rosso on the rocks or in the Venetian style with sparkling water. It is also excellent in a classic Negroni with gin and sweet vermouth, a Boulevardier with bourbon, an Americano with sweet vermouth and soda, and a bitter spritz topped with prosecco and soda water. Garnish with a slice of orange. Pair it with olives, crisps, salumi, Parmigiano and other aperitivo snacks. For a lighter drink, top a measure with tonic water and a slice of grapefruit, or add a splash to a glass of prosecco. In winter, it adds a bitter-orange lift to a mulled wine or a hot toddy, and a dash brightens a classic gin and tonic. Keep the bottle in a cool, dark place after opening.
