Madre Tequila Blanco is an additive-free, still-strength tequila from the makers of Madre Mezcal, bottled at 96 proof (48% ABV) in a 700ml bottle.
Made in the spirit of what was once called Vino de Mezcal de Tequila and honoring tequila's origins as mezcal, Madre Tequila draws on lessons learned from making Madre Mezcal to emphasize the natural agave flavor in the spirit. It joins a select number of brands that produce only additive-free tequila. The agaves are harvested from a single estate at some of the highest elevations in Jalisco, 7,500 feet above sea level, where rough conditions build complexity and sweetness. It is distilled with mineral-rich well water drawn from nearly 1,500 feet below the surface.
Even at still strength (most tequilas are diluted to 38 to 40%), it has a smooth mouthfeel and a full-bodied, sweet agave flavor. Expect fresh agave with citrus, rosemary and earthy minerality on the nose, then sweet cooked agave, lemon zest and peppery spice on a crisp palate.

Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
