It was developed by master mezcalero Arturo Conde, a third-generation mezcalero, and produced in small batches in the highlands of Durango with slow roasting and natural fermentation.

Mezcal is made by roasting agave hearts, traditionally in earthen pits, then crushing, fermenting and distilling them, a process that gives the spirit its characteristic smoky depth.
