Midnight Moon Blackberry is a moonshine hand-packed with fresh-picked blackberries, blending the tangy sweetness of the fruit with the punchy kick of moonshine, bottled at 70 proof (35% ABV).
Midnight Moon is made by Piedmont Distillers in Madison, North Carolina, on the family moonshine recipe of NASCAR legend Junior Johnson, who became part owner of the distillery in 2007. Its fruit moonshines come in the brand's signature mason jar.
Blackberry starts with Midnight Moon moonshine, triple distilled from American corn, and every jar is hand-packed with real blackberries, which you can see resting in the bottom of the glass. The fruit gives it a deep purple color and its tangy, jammy flavor.
Expect ripe, jammy blackberry on the nose, a sweet and tangy palate with bright berry fruit over a clean corn spirit, and a warm, punchy finish.
Serve Midnight Moon Blackberry ice cold straight from the jar, or pour it over ice with a splash of lemonade for an easy summer sipper. Mix it with ginger ale and fresh lime, top it with club soda and mint for a blackberry smash, or add it to sweet tea for a Southern twist. Shake it with lemon juice and simple syrup for a blackberry sour, or splash it into a glass of sparkling wine for a festive toast. Do not forget the moonshine-soaked berries in the bottom of the jar, which make a fun garnish or a topping for vanilla ice cream. Pair it with barbecue, fried chicken, peach cobbler or blackberry pie, and bring the jar along to cookouts and tailgates.
