Milagro Cristalino Añejo is a crystal-clear, ultra-premium añejo made from 100% blue agave from the Highlands of Jalisco, aged in American oak barrels and then carefully filtered to remove the colour, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
The filtering removes colour while preserving the rich, complex flavours developed during ageing, so the cristalino has the warmth and depth of an añejo in a visually striking, crystal-clear spirit that showcases Milagro's highland agave character.
The nose offers vanilla, caramel, cooked agave, tropical fruit and light toasted oak. The palate is smooth and elegant, with agave sweetness, vanilla, caramel and the refined complexity of añejo ageing, and the finish is clean and warm, with lingering vanilla and agave.
Presented in Milagro's tall, elegant bottle, it is a refined gift.
Sip it neat or over a large cube.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
