Milagro Silver is an unaged 100% blue Weber agave tequila from the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, known for its bright, fresh agave flavor and exceptional smoothness, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Milagro was founded in 1998 by two friends from Mexico City who set out to create a modern tequila by making full use of tradition. Today it is owned by William Grant & Sons, which acquired its own distillery for the brand in 2020 (NOM 1559).
It starts with estate-grown, hand-picked blue agave from the highlands, where red, mineral-rich soil, sunny days and crisp mountain nights let the agave grow large and full of sugar. Jimadores harvest it at peak ripeness, and the piñas are slow-roasted for an average of 36 hours in traditional brick ovens, which bring out the agave's naturally bursting freshness. The tequila is then triple distilled.
Crystal clear with silver hues, it shows aromas of lemongrass, citrus and black pepper, and tastes of bright fresh agave, citrus and pear. It has been named a 91-point Wine Enthusiast Best Buy.
Try it in The Freshest Margarita: shake 2 parts Milagro Silver, 3/4 part agave syrup and 1 part fresh lime juice with ice, strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with a lime wheel. It is just as good in a Paloma or with soda.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
