Mucha Liga Añejo is a 100% blue agave tequila aged more than a year in oak barrels and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV), presented in a bottle shaped like a lucha libre wrestler's masked head.
Mature agave from the fields is patiently rested in barrels until it becomes a robust, smooth and bold añejo: a seductive, experienced expression of the family's craft.
It shows a warm amber color with inviting aromas of vanilla, caramel and oak. On the palate it is smooth, with roasted agave and dried fruit, and the finish is long and elegant.
The faceted luchador-mask bottle makes it a showpiece and a memorable gift for wrestling fans and tequila lovers alike.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
