Myrtle Bank 10 Year Old is a single barrel, single estate, cask-strength Jamaican rum from Worthy Park Estate, 100% pot still and bottled at 120 proof (60% ABV) without any additives, including colouring.
It was aged for ten years in the UK before being bottled by San Francisco's Treasure Island Distillery. It is a fantastic example of Worthy Park's WPE marque, the biggest ester bomb the estate produces.
Rich, lush and funky, it brings big classic Jamaican hogo together with a myriad of tropical fruits, including mango, banana and passion fruit, along with vanilla, sharp barrel spice and cocoa, molasses richness and a deep, warming finish.
Limited and additive-free, it is a thrilling bottle for rum enthusiasts who love intensity and classic Jamaican funk.
Sip it neat, then add a few drops of water.
Aged rum is one of the most diverse spirits in the world, shaped by the sugarcane, the still and the warm climates where it matures, which speed up the interaction between spirit and wood.
Jamaican rum is famous for its high-ester style, created by long fermentations and pot-still distillation, which produces intense tropical fruit and the funky character known as hogo. Worthy Park, one of the island's oldest estates, grows its own sugarcane and is one of the most respected producers of this style.
Ageing in the cooler UK climate is slower than in the tropics, so ten years there gives a rum more elegance and integration while keeping its fruit vivid.
