New Riff 8 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon is the oldest core release from New Riff Distilling in Newport, Kentucky, a matured version of its flagship high-rye bourbon bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) without chill filtration.
Released in early 2024, it marks the first of New Riff's initial whiskeys set back for long-term ageing since the distillery's founding in 2014. It is built on a mash bill of non-GMO grains, 65% corn, 30% rye and 5% malted barley, made with the full sour mash Kentucky regimen and aged in 53-gallon toasted and charred new oak barrels.
The extra years in the barrel deepen New Riff's savoury, spicy, full-bodied character with a more oaky, mellow profile and a smooth, buttery finish.
