Oak & Eden Rye & Spire is a rye whiskey from a mash of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, aged in charred American white oak and finished in the bottle with a toasted American oak spire, bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV).
Oak & Eden was founded by brothers James and Joseph Gildenzopf, who wanted to add new flavors to whiskey. Rather than resting the whiskey in a secondary barrel, they finish it in the bottle: a spiral-cut piece of seasoned, toasted American oak, the spire, rests inside every bottle, and the wood and whiskey age together for six weeks in the warehouse before release. The spire's patented design and the in-bottle finishing technique are unique to Oak & Eden, and the spire keeps shaping the whiskey after bottling.
The spire brings out deep, bold flavors, with rye spice, cinnamon, licorice and butterscotch over oak and vanilla.
