Orgullo Ajeno Blanco is an unaged 100% blue Weber agave tequila from Jalisco, crisp and clean with bright citrus notes, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Orgullo Ajeno is the first Mexican, LGBTQ+ and woman-owned tequila company. Founder Diana, frustrated by the lack of queer, Mexican, woman-owned tequila brands and by celebrity tequilas that overlooked authentic Mexican culture, created a high-quality, socially conscious tequila that is welcoming, inclusive and representative of Mexican and LGBTQ+ communities and histories. The name translates to Someone Else's Pride, and the brand gives back to the LGBTQ+ and Latinx communities. The blanco is the brand's first and purest expression of agave, made from mature agave that is slowly steam-roasted and double distilled.
Fresh agave and bright lemon citrus lead, with herbal and earthy notes and a hint of peppery spice on a smooth, citrus-forward palate.
More than a tequila: a movement.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
