Pinhook Collaboration Series No. 3 is a limited-edition, cask-strength Australian single malt whisky distilled by Starward in Melbourne and blended by Pinhook with sommelier Jordan Salcito. It is bottled at 114.8 proof (57.4% ABV).
In the Collaboration Series, Pinhook co-founder and master blender Sean Josephs teams up with experts from other sensory-rich fields. For the third edition, the 2024 release, he revisited his wine roots with Jordan Salcito, an internationally recognized sommelier known for her time at Restaurant Daniel, Eleven Madison Park and Momofuku. Together they blended four distinct styles of Starward single malt, aged exclusively in red wine barrels, bridging the worlds of wine and whiskey.
Made from 100% locally grown malted barley, double distilled in copper pot stills and aged four to five years in Australian red wine casks, the blend of 28 barrels shows a warm nose of poached pear, vanilla curd, cardamom and light cedar, and a luxurious palate of raspberry, wild honey, clove and graham cracker.
A one-time release, it is a fine gift for whisky collectors and wine lovers.
