Purasangre Blanco Fuerte is a higher-proof blanco tequila crafted by legendary master distiller Enrique Fonseca at the Tequileña distillery (NOM 1146), bottled at 87 proof (43.5% ABV).
Purasangre means pure blood, a name that refers to thoroughbred race horses, and the line is built for purists. Bottled at a slightly higher proof than Purasangre's standard blanco, Fuerte is the best way to experience the full range of flavors from Tequileña's most prized estate-grown agave: 100% blue Weber agave matured five to six years at elevations over 5,200 feet in Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco. The agave is cooked for 24 hours in a low-pressure autoclave, fermented in stainless steel and double distilled, first in a stainless steel pot still and then in copper.
The tequila is rich and balanced, with earthy and herbaceous agave flavors. A balance of intensity and subtlety comes through citrus and a touch of sweetness, and the finish is clean.

Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
