Rebecca Creek Bottled in Bond is a grain-to-glass, small-batch Texas straight bourbon produced entirely in the Texas Hill Country by Rebecca Creek Distillery of San Antonio, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
It is crafted in accordance with the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, which means it is the product of one distillation season, by one distiller, at one distillery, aged at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse and bottled at exactly 100 proof. The Act, championed by Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr., established the first federal consumer protection standards in American spirits.
The grain bill of 60% yellow corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley gives a high-rye backbone with enough corn sweetness to keep it balanced. Corn brings sweet grain and vanilla, while rye adds pepper and lift, for a bolder bourbon with subtle nuttiness, floral notes and a spicy black pepper finish.
A true Texas bonded bourbon, it makes a fine gift for bourbon lovers.
Enjoy it neat, on the rocks or in an Old Fashioned.
Bourbon must be made in the United States from a mash of at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak containers, and straight bourbon must be aged at least two years. Those rules give bourbon its characteristic sweetness, with caramel and vanilla drawn from the charred barrels.
