Rhum J.M is located in the small northern village of Macouba, Martinique, at the base of the iconic volcano Mount Pelée, and it produces AOC Rhum Agricole from estate-grown sugarcane. Credited as the first recorded distillery to produce rhum agricole, it boasts one of the freshest sugarcane crushes in the world: less than an hour from field to fermentation tank.
Because it is made from fresh-pressed sugarcane juice rather than molasses, as the AOC Rhum Agricole designation requires, J.M carries vibrant, grassy flavors. The estate cane grows around the distillery in rich volcanic soil and a unique microclimate, creating a terroir-driven rum with grassy, floral notes unlike any other.
The unique terroir of the volcanic soil is ever present as minerality collides with honey and cane flowers. A bouquet of white pepper and lilies gives way to grilled pineapple, green banana, raspberry and warm biscuits on the palate, perfectly balanced for a fresh cocktail experience.
