Rocket Vodka is an award-winning California vodka handcrafted from 100% apples, cut with Sierra Nevada mountain water and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Rocket Vodka's origin story takes place, like so many Silicon Valley tales, in a garage. Founder Dariusz Paczuski, born in Poland and a Menlo Park resident, was chasing the memory of apples from his childhood: his mother juiced fallen fruit, and his father, a glassblower and hobbyist distiller, turned the cider into spirit on a makeshift copper still in the family's root cellar. That celebrated Polish family formula inspired a premium vodka made from apples, handcrafted since 2016.
After experimenting with apple varieties, Paczuski settled on a blend of Fuji and Golden Delicious. Today Rocket is made at Dry Diggings Distillery in El Dorado Hills, northeast of Sacramento, where the apples are fermented and distilled in small batches to 190 proof before being cut with mountain water. It is naturally gluten-free, with no sugar added and no additives.
Bright, clean and uniquely sippable, Rocket shows just a hint of fruit on the nose and a very smooth finish, and fans often mention the subtle aroma of apples.
